Our commitments to ethical practice, confidentiality, and professional conduct
GSA Consulting Group is committed to the highest standards of professional ethics, cultural sensitivity, and responsible practice. The following statements reflect our values and guide how we work with institutions, partners, and colleagues worldwide.
All information shared by client institutions — including organizational data, personnel matters, and institutional assessments — is treated as strictly confidential. GSA consultants do not share, publish, or reference client information without explicit written consent. We comply with applicable data protection regulations, including GDPR where relevant, and handle all personal and institutional data with care and discretion.
GSA Consulting uses AI tools to support research, drafting, and efficiency — never to replace the professional judgment, expertise, or personal engagement of our consultants. When AI tools are used in deliverables, we disclose this to clients. All AI-generated content is reviewed, edited, and validated by a qualified GSA consultant before delivery. We do not use AI to process confidential client data.
GSA Consulting is committed to equity and inclusion in all its forms. We work to ensure our team, our practices, and our recommendations reflect and respect the diversity of the global higher education community. We actively seek to understand and honor cultural differences in our work, and we challenge practices — in our own work and in client engagements — that perpetuate systemic inequity.
GSA consultants adhere to the professional ethical standards of their respective fields, including those established by NASPA, IASAS, and other relevant professional associations. We disclose any potential conflicts of interest before beginning an engagement and will decline work that conflicts with our ethical obligations. We do not accept engagements where we cannot deliver genuine value.
We recognize that higher education operates within diverse cultural, political, and social contexts that vary widely across world regions. GSA consultants commit to approaching every engagement with humility, curiosity, and respect for local context. We do not impose frameworks developed in one cultural context onto institutions in another without thoughtful adaptation and local collaboration.
GSA Consulting embraces the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a guiding framework. We minimize unnecessary travel in our consulting practice, prioritize virtual engagement where feasible, and encourage clients to consider sustainability dimensions in their own organizational planning. We are committed to ensuring that our work contributes to, rather than detracts from, a sustainable world.
GSA Consulting is committed to making our services, publications, and digital content as accessible as possible to people of all abilities. We welcome feedback on accessibility barriers and will work to address them promptly. Clients with accessibility needs are encouraged to communicate them at the outset of any engagement so we can make appropriate accommodations.
All written materials, frameworks, and tools developed by GSA Consulting remain the intellectual property of GSA Consulting Group, LLC unless otherwise agreed in writing. Client deliverables are intended for the client's internal use. Co-authored publications will include appropriate attribution for all contributors. We encourage the sharing of knowledge in the global SAS community and support open-access publishing where possible.
